Every self respecting garage owner needs a well rounded set of garage equipment. We're not talking here about general DIY tools that are typically used elsewhere and stored in the garage, rather those tools and generally handy items that are used primarily in the garage itself.
Here's a list of those that we find absolutely essential. Let us know if you think we've missed any:
Garage Workbench
When it comes to DIY you can't beat a good workbench with a fitted vice. These two in combination hold securely any job you are working on improving both accuracy and safety.
Portable Heater
If you are working for any period of time in your garage you'll need a source of heat. Working when cold is both uncomfortable and dangerous. Portable heaters are both inexpensive and very effective at producing a safe and comfortable environment.
NB: Cabinet heaters or any other form of flueless or open flue appliance should not be used in garages being used to store any flammable materials/vapours eg. petrol
Garage Shelves
Are these equipment? Even if you think not, they are so useful that they certainly deserve to be at the top of any list to do with garages. Make them sturdy and put them in sensible places and they'll serve you well.
Wall Mounted Tool Storage
For large tools (spade, bow saw, ladder) and for commonly used tools (multi head screwdriver, stanley knife) your best storage area is the wall and there are a whole range of brackets and fixings to help you out.
